What is raw honey?

Raw honey is honey in its purest form – unprocessed, unheated and extracted straight from the hive. Unlike commercial honey, it hasn’t been pasteurised or stripped of its nutrients. Manuka honey comes specifically from the nectar of leptospermum plants and contains high levels of MGO (Methylglyoxal), giving it potent antibacterial properties.
Raw honey, on the other hand, refers to how the honey is processed – or more accurately, how it’s not processed. It can come from a variety of floral sources and retains all its natural nutrients, enzymes, and flavours without the need for heat or filtration.
